On Some Days

Ready and Waiting

I couldn't see a photo opportunity in my classroom today so I had to look around my backyard.   My husband is a forester and has always provided us with the best of firewood.  The wood is brought home from the forest in blocks and then split and stacked.  These are blocks of Maire which is an indigenous species.  The tree was felled in the 1970's.  A crop of pine trees was planted over the land and now those trees have been harvested and the Maire is exposed again to be collected and burnt by us.  That land will be planted again with more pine trees.
