Nostalgia

This morning I drove past the house which my maternal grandparents built in 1948. It is now used as a hearing clinic. Sadly I don't remember my grandfather as he died suddenly in January 1955 when I was just over 12 months old. I feel sad about this as everybody has told me what a lovely man he was. All I have is a lovely old fountain pen which he used every day in his role as a bank manager in the Bank of New Zealand. I do however remember visiting my grandmother there and sharing many happy times with my cousins.
