Big Bird

I bought this cockerel from an antique/bric a brac place in Lancashire some years ago. He's made of a very heavy wood and is so tactile. I just loved his bright colours and his beady eye (which sometimes seems to wink). He looks as though he has been one of a pair and I always keep an eye peeled for his partner. In the summer, he sits on the patio; most of the time he sits at the French windows, keeping an eye on the garden. He's no trouble at all - he gets a weekly dusting and his colours remain bright and gorgeous. When little folk visit, they make a noisy bee line for him but cannot pick him up because he's so heavy. That's when he winks that beady little eye at me and gets back to overlooking his domain (or looking for his long lost partner).
