White-breasted Nuthatch
WBNU in its characteristic pose, upside down on the underside of a branch of our big maple in the front yard. S/he's looking at the feeder hanging several inches away and is about to jump over for a bit of sunflower seed.
I agonized a bit about which photo to use for today's blip. I have some new lovely close-ups of my favorite titmouse/mice (there are definitely at least two frequenting the window feeder and providing me with the close-ups ~ I've seen one chase the another away). Or it could have been a Blue Jay; or a White-throated Sparrow... but in the end I decided to go with a bird I don't believe I've blipped yet.
So ~ the Nuthatch.
