Spring Kitchen
After a very frustrating morning which involved getting up much earlier than normal, to catch a bus, then a tram, out to Edinburgh Park to attend a breakfast briefing - only to get off at the wrong tram stop - and not be able to find the place I was supposed to be going in time, I at least had the delights of lunch at the newly extended and refurbished The Kitchin to look forward to.
And it did not disappoint - my team were very impressed with the menu and surroundings, and I was delighted that, in their refurb, they have managed to get rid of the slightly dark and gloomy interior so that the whole experience was much brighter. It's always nice when you can see the food that you are eating!
I was also doing quite well on the healthy stakes - watercress velouté followed by hake in an asian style seafood consommé - but then I ended with coffee and chocolate soufflé with expresso ice-cream. Yum yum yum!
