A glimpse of my day

Washing Machines!

Had my Miele washing machine for about 12 years and it has served me well. Yesterday I washed 2 heavy bath mats and when it went into the spin mode there was a loud bang and the machine did not want to play. The rinse light was flashing. I rang the local washing machine engineer and he said the main circuit board was the fault and would cost about £200 to replace! So I searched the internet and which confirmed the circuit board was at fault BUT it went on to tell me which components (a relay and a fuse) were at fault and where to buy them. It also described how to open the machine and get access to the circuit board. I ordered the components yesterday pm and they arrived at 8 o'clock this morning. Using my soldering skills I picked up in the RAF I took the board out and replaced the items. Put the machine back together and hey presto the washing machine is now back in business!!
Today's blip is the defective relay and fuse. Total cost was £10 including postage! I am a happy satisfied bunny. Thank you Google for saving me loads.
