The Marble Church

A friend who is staying with me has always wanted to visit this church in Bodelwyddan to see the graves of the Canadian soldiers who are buried there, so this morning we went.
It's an interesting story as some of them were killed in a riot at a camp in North Wales whilst they were waiting for a ship to take them home. The ship was diverted so they weren't picked up. Others died of influenza in the Spanish 'flu outbreak of 1919. So sad to see graves of boys as young as 16 who had been fighting for their country in the a Great War.
