Blandford Forum
Most of Blandford was destroyed in the fire of 1731 and two brothers, John and William Bastard, designed and built a beautiful new Georgian town. The grey building is the Corn Exchange with the church of SS Peter and Paul on the right, first opened in 1739. We looked at the church with the background of powerful organ music as the organist was practising for a concert later in the day - nothing like a private hearing!
I arrived here yesterday to spend the night with a girlfriend who has just moved here and it has been really enjoyable exploring another area.
