Poker face

I've always been fascinated by red hot poker flowers. They look amazing and very sculptural for a while before the birds have a good go at them.

I failed miserably at growing these when I lived in a slightly colder area in the county but now I have moved somewhere very sunny I have no problems growing them. My mate Felicia bought me these as bulbs (are they bulbs???? or known by a different name...they are long wormy things anyways). She got them for me from Columbia Road flower market on a sunny Sunday one day when I was visiting the East End :-) Happy happy memories!
