Correfocs

As part of St Eulalia Festival (Festes de Santa Eulàlia), There was a Correfocs in town. Santa Eulalia is the Co-Patron Saint of Barcelona. There is a Saint day for her on 12th February, as she died on 12th February 303, which is my Saint day. My full name is Eulàlia, Lali is my short name.

El Correfocs is a performance where different horses and dragons throw fireworks at you through their mouth and people dressed as demons chase you with fireworks as well. You have to dress accordingly, covering your head with a hat and wearing cotton clothes for protection if you want to get close to them. The idea is to run along or away from them and that is why it's called correfoc (fire run). I did a bit of running in order to take the photos. My sister watched in the distance... :)

I had so many photos that I found it really difficult to choose one, but I think this one describes very well what this is all about..

This is the only exciting thing I did today. It was good to catch up with my sister and I had great fun! (This is another back blip, by the way, haha)

Thanks very much for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts! I'll be commenting a bit more when I come back from my holidays... I hope you all had a good weekend! :)
