Whiplash

Went for a matinee showing of Whiplash at the Filmhouse this afternoon. Another Best Picture contender.

It's like Rocky but with jazz drumming. Brilliantly intense. J.K Simmons deserving the accolades he is getting. Never has a jazz band playing double-time swing been so intimidating.

I enjoyed it a lot.
