Englishtown Beach.

A stunning sunny day....and of course bitterly cold.  but we were set on heading out for a walk.   Down to Englishtown and because the ferry was not operating we had to walk on the other side - which tends to be more rocky etc.   Lots of deep snow to maneuver thro.....we walked for just over an hour and i was knackered!   the unevenness of the snow makes for tricky walking and challenges my balance a lot!   then back to the car, nice and warm and snacks at the ready!   we sat till the sun set - mostly watching a group of seals out on the ice.   They were quite far away from us, but we got totally caught up in wondering when they make the decision to get back into the water!!!   one group who were hit by the shade first plopped in quite soon after the sun set on them.   but the other group of maybe 8-9 took a lot longer.    We sat and waited and waited for the last 2 to take to the water!!!   By this time i was getting a bit impatient....my bladder was also very full and at -15 outside i wasn't about to relieve myself there!   we finally left and the last 2 still hadn't left the ice.   it was a bit like watching paint dry for the last 10 minutes or so!   anyway, it was good to be out and watching the goings on of the wild life around here.
