Plus ça change...

Melting

The big thaw began in earnest today.

I awarded myself a "I've worked too hard this week" lie-in and showed up late at the market.  A good chat with the wine folk, a reminder to the cloth man about that curtain lining ("early March - for sure") and a return to an old cheese place (as my normal cheese lady wasn't there).

Lovely lunch alone, then getting some snacks ready to watch the rugby.  Pals arrived back from househunting just in time for the France Scotland match, which was a lot more exciting than we'd expected.  Though a Scotland victory (yes, I do still support them) would have been fantastic, my life here is much easier when France win...  CarbBoy is the most torn in our family, so just doesn't watch the France-Scotland matches.

I had somehow not expected to be dinner-provider, but pulled duck and chips out of the bag (or more accurately, out of the fridge and freezer!) which with some later cheese kept us all ticking over.  Our fridge is at bursting point with leftovers, so I don't think I'll be cooking at all next week.

A very relaxing day.
