Skirting the National Park

Weather report: snow all day, momentary bursts of sunlight in the morning, blustery and cold.
It was a day for taking a trail through the woods, and down the valley to Zernez was our choice of destination. After 20km and frozen fingers and toes, we felt we deserved a cappuccino and a ride home on the train.
Given the immediate proximity to the Swiss National Park there are many animal tracks criss-crossing the cross-country trails. What a delight to see a chamois bounding across a gully as we sped close by on the train on our return.
