Flag waving

These are Tibetan Prayer Flags as they come from one of our local stores. They stock a lot of them in many varieties. That may be because of the large number of hippies here, but it also turns out they have practical uses. Most often I've seen them strung up over chicken enclosures to deter the hawks. My intention is to fill in some of the gaps in our fences and gates. The other day I saw a deer leap through a gap in a fence, one that I'd thought was too small for a deer!

The birthday weekend visit has included a trip to town for some recreational mooching around the shops. After lunch we went to the brewery and picked up a growler of one of their beers. The birthday girl even got the t-shirt - which has been out of stock every time we've visited.
