How Old Are You?

I got me a sticker album today. Officially I am financially supporting the club, off the record I am over the moon that now the Big Lad is too old for this stuff I get to stick my own shinies in my own book!

In other news it is National Libraries Day today, a sadder celebration with each year that passes. A few years ago I used to do voluntary work in my local library. We would get a list of old people who couldn't get out to choose their own books. Armed with info on their likes and dislikes we'd choose for them and then go round and deliver them and have a bit of a chat.

I have always clung to the idea that after years of choosing books for others and advising them, someone would do this for me one day if i needed it. It makes me so sad that in twenty years time we may have no library service at all. It's obviously not important when you think about money for care homes and making sure people have enough benefits to survive on but it still makes me sad.
