WHAT A BLIPPING LOVELY DAY!

Just before you meet someone you’ve never met before, there’s always that little bit of apprehension as to whether you will get on.  We knew that Yvonne and Geoff were staying at the Premier Inn in the middle of Swindon overnight last night, and we had arranged that they would call when they were “on their way” to our house.

The call came at about 10.50 and within 10 minutes we knew there was no need to worry!  We all got on like a house on fire - and didn’t stop chatting all day!  It seems to me that blip meets are either to go out and take lots of fantastic photographs in wonderful places or to have copious amounts of tea and coffee and stay in chatting.  Ours was the latter.

Our younger son lives in Bangkok and his birthday is in February (as is his girlfriend’s) and as Yvonne and Geoff are going to see family in Bangkok en route to New Zealand to see more family, they had offered to take anything over to Jules and we were happy to take them up on their kind offer.

So, after a quick chat and cuppa at home, we went out for lunch, and then came back home for more tea and coffee before handing over the various packages.

I don’t think we stopped chatting the whole time we were together - and it felt as if we had known Yvonne and Geoff forever.  We sadly took our leave of each other at about 5 p.m. and if I am honest, I did feel a little sad (although didn’t say anything) that Yvonne will be able to give our son a hug when we haven’t seen him for almost 4 years - but hey ho - as another blip friend would say, GOI (short for “Get Over It!”)

Thank you Yvonne and Geoff - you are a lovely couple and we are very grateful to you for being willing to take cards and gifts to Bangkok - and we look forward to seeing you sometime in the summer.

Sometimes you meet people
and know immediately
that they were meant to be
your friend.

P.S.  In case you are wondering, I took both photographs - the second one being the first selfie with my camera, rather than the iPhone.
