When a man with a camera was a crowd puller

2015 and 1897. This street now is dominated by restaurants, 2 Thai and more Indians than I have fingers to count. Back in 1897, it was the main retail street and George Street, today's high street was dominated by the hat trade with factories and warehouses lining the street.

My new camera arrived yesterday. I haven't had a proper chance to play with it yet, and as is so often the case these days, it doesn't come with a printed menu which is rather annoying. I must say that I am very impressed with the overall look and feel and it's great to have so many of the commonly used features available on the camera body rather than buried in menus. The only clear negative is the time it takes to write a picture which feels like forever. 3 times I've pressed the review button to check out the picture I've just taken only to get an error message because it was still writing the file. I've ordered a fast SD card in the hope that this will improve things.

Beaten by Tim at racketball last night. The shame of it, but all credit to him. It just goes to show that when he can be arsed, he can play but sadly he so often just doesn't really try.

Right, I'm off to build a cupboard in the cloakroom. Wish me luck.
