Water Rail

On my way back from a haircut  I popped past Inverleith Pond to see if it was frozen over. The main pond was almost completely frozen over but the smaller reeded area had areas of open water. Then I spotted a bunch of guys with BIG lenses and I know there had to be something special. As I approached I could see a small bird with lenses on it. A water rail-quite scarce and usually very difficult to see. This one was out in the open looking for food. Very nice colours.
