Ricky

After a busy day at work I had an evening out at Newcastle Arena with friend and fellow Blipper ASDays and The Kaiser Chiefs. Ricky Wilson is probably more famous these days for being one of the four coaches on The Voice UK, but being front man of the Kaisers has always been my favourite role of his. He had a hard task last night as the crowd was abysmal. Never known anything like it at any show in Newcastle. Place was half empty too. Can't understand it as they're one of the best live bands around. Ricky did a sterling job trying to rev people up out of their torpor, but can't help thinking he and the band would have been a bit disappointed at the end, as we were, with the atmosphere, given what an awesome show it was. Maybe the arena was the wrong venue. Hopefully be able to see them in a more intimate venue next time around.
