A farmers life...

Been one of those days again. One on feeding out silage to the ewes,one one mucking out cows. I bedded the first lot and let them back into the shed,only to discover they must have burst a door open and were mixed with another shed full.Have spent 2 hours this afternoon trying to mother up 80 odd cows and their calves and get them back to their correct sheds. Just the thing for a Friday afternoon.
By the time I got that done and everything fed,I realized it was too late to phone the garage to see if they had fixed the Jeep alternator. Hope they are open tomorrow or my name will be mud with Mrs Farmerboab.
Now sitting going through today's mail while my tea cooks in the nearly hot enough Aga, and it looks like they are all bills.And its pay day for the men too.
Hence my mind drifting to this Henry Brewis cartoon hanging on the office wall for the last umpteen years. Just about sums up farming.
