When You can't See the Woodies for the Trees.

Since the end of the wars it has been traditional to "roost shoot"  on February  Friday nights, for the pesky Woodpigeon.  Why February you may ask! because the game shooting season is finished and the disturbance in woods on shooting land and estates it now acceptable.
Tonight was not a great start, very clear skies and little wind. But there is something very pleasing about being in the woods as the day draws to a close, whether there is much sport or not. My tally just two birds, enough for a pigeon pie.
