It is Friday

Last night at Burgundy's I was expecting to see Jilly Jarman & Gail Bashall from Penrith but unfortunately Gail, who not only has a great voice but also a lovely yellow dress (from her Adlib shop in Penrith)  was unwell. So Jilly had brought her quartet of Jack Davies (drums), Neil Shallcross (bass) and Jeff Bartholomew (horn). 
And there was a very welcomed surprise - a guest vocalist, Ella Jarman-Pinto.  Her harmonies with Jilly were brilliant and of course a joy to sketch.  Maybe I thought I was sketching Ella Fitzgerald! It had to be a quick sketch as I had no idea how many numbers for which she would join the quartet
To her left is Neil concentrating on playing his electric double bass and to her right Jeff who got to play the melody now and again.
A great night and Jilly's rendering of "Autumn Leaves" was so moving.
