Under the Lynn Stream Bridge
Waitangi Day has been a pretty laid back affair here in the the forest today. Me and the poochies went for a bit of a morning stroll up to the Lookout and back but apart from that I've been rejoicing in being reconnected with the World Wide Web, now that our RBI connection is online.
Tonight's shot is from the side of Lynn Stream, which flows down from the side of Mount Peel (the big peak, not Little Mount Peel). The bridge is currently undergoing repairs, so the Rangitata Gorge road is currently routed through a ford on the river side of the road.
As you can see around the peaks in the distance, it looks like the weather is closing in. Like just about everyone else in Canterbury (and the South Island in general) we're hoping for rain to charge our rainwater tanks and bring relief to the parched earth.
