Scanning the skies

There has been an airport at Manston since 1916, it has survived two world wars and countless initiatives to boost the flagging local economy. Despite having the 6th longest runway in England and the infrastructure to accommodate scheduled, chartered and freight flights, it is now closed. It's watchtower stands empty, the radar antenna is still, the runway is silent.

Thanks to Himself  and Freespiral for hosting DT while SarumStroller takes a break.
