A Big Event

Today was a big day for my first grandson. He signed with the college of his choice in Oregon and committed to play football.  Both of their quarterbacks graduate this year, so they have been actively been attempting to persuade him to attend their school. The Oregonian representative was there, along with many of his high school teammates, family, girlfriend, coaches, principal and other friends. It was a very crowded room and he felt excited ( although a bit humbled ) by the support all were giving him. Austin will be 18 years old this Friday, so undoubtedly this may be a week he will remember for a long time! He is a nice loving grandson.....I am happy for him because this is what he wants.....however, I am concerned about the contact nature of football and the injuries possible. I pray for safety on the field every game.....not just for him, but all the players on both teams. At least Western Oregon University is close enough so we will be able to attend the home games this fall.
