Before the Sun

I decided try and find my Blip before work this morning so  I arrived at this pond about 6:15 a.m.  That was an hour and 20 minutes before sun rise.  With the cloud cover and the time a day it was very dark.  I tried to compose the picture with the assistance of my car headlights, which was moderately successful.    

There is a lot that I find magical about photography but one of the most amazing things for me is how a camera can capture color and light where the human eye sees nothing.

This image was created at f22, ISO 800 and an 8.5 minute exposure.   I used ISO 800 rather than 100 because I was in a hurry.  Even with post processing this image is still a little too noisy.  I'll have to be more patient next time.
