Smiles Abounding
I indulged in a little bimble downtown before my exercise class today, and this blue bicycle -- just the simple sort I'd like to have -- and its seasonal decorations, spotted in a florist's window, made me smile. I wonder if it's for sale?
And I've been smiling inside, if not on the outside, for the past few hours, as I dug deep on Ancestry.com into my father's side of the family, spurred by an email from a woman I'll call L, who had noticed that some of the names on her family tree were also on mine, and provided me with some additional information. It looks as if her grandmother was my father's first cousin, and now I have many more names filling that side of my family tree!
I was smiling yesterday, captured by Phil, at the delicious lunch set before me, and I'll smile again tonight when I add a few more vegetables to the half I didn't eat yesterday and the two of us will have an easy supper!
The smiles will continue tomorrow, when two of our dear friends from Seattle Welsh Choir come up to have lunch and see photos of our 2013 trip to Iceland, which they plan to visit this year. No doubt some of the many happy memories of our time together in that choir, where Phil and I met, will also be part of the nonstop conversation!
(Many thanks for the hearts and stars for my experiment in a "spirit" self-portrait!)
