Observatory

The building on which the observatory sits was formally Stirling High School, before being converted to its current use.
The school can trace its roots back to 1129, during the reign of David 1 of Scotland, when the seminary to the Church of the Holy Rude was established.
The observatory is still used by the Stirling Astronomical Society. The telescope (a Newtonian reflector) was designed, constructed and installed by William Peck in 1889.
