Book update

In December 2013, my husband decided he was going to read 100 recommended books listed by the Sunday Times.
Nothing unusual about that I suppose - except that in the 25 years or so that I've known him, he has never read a single book for pleasure!
13 months later, and he is on his 34th book from the list. He hasn't deviated from the list at all - everyone of the books he has read in that time is on the list.
It's been good for me too, because although I love to read, many of the books on his list I would never have chosen to read. If I ran out of books to read, I tried some from his list.
He wanted to own the listed books, not just to borrow them from the library. So, after he realised how expensive it would be to buy them all new, we've had fun finding them in charity shops. He loves the Oxfam book shops!!!
We are very different readers. F will read a listed book to the end, even if he doesn't particularly like the content. I won't start a book if I think I'm not going to find it interesting or enjoyable.
His 34th book is The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliffe. I'm reading Bad Blood by Lorna Sage, on F's recommendation. Both books are entertaining their respective readers.
