The (Little) Big Moment
Here are some of the things I have learned from this Blipfoto challenge:
How to work the self timer on my camera
How to post an archive photo
How to cajole OilMan into posing for numerous shots mumbling about how he should get paid for all the time he puts into my addiction to Blipfoto.
I was tempted to post a picture him "snuggling" with Blake. Yes, "snuggle" is actually a command for a service dog, and as he grows bigger and less dependent on us, it is more difficult to achieve. A big moment perhaps, but not exactly romantic. And when I think about it, it is not really the romantic moments, although that is certainly how it all started. It is the working together, the friendship, the caring and respect and humor that make it a true and lasting partnership.
It is still a source of amazement that, although we were both very young when we married, and knew practically nothing, we thought we knew everything we needed to know. Perhaps we did. What we were both certain about was that it would all work out. And I think it is safe to say that it has.
I'm glad I didn't know how hard it would be to raise children, or even that I had a choice. OilMan was a wonderful father and an equal participant in that grand adventure. As I have watched all three of them marry and have their own families, I can't help but think that, despite our ignorance, that went rather well.
I do wish I had known about the snoring. And the addiction to Sudoku….
