Early Blossom?

Some of you may recognise this colourful little bloom, which I blipped at the end of summer.  A beautiful clip-on flower, probably fell out of some girl's hair, and picked up and attached to a low hanging branch. 

However, now devoid of leaves, the branch has extended skyward to the beautiful pink and blue streaked morning sky, and still the little blossom clings tenaciously on.

I feel there is some kind of lesson in this story; not sure what it is!
