The school for the deaf and post-hearing-aid rehabilitation that we support in Zanzibar employs specially trained teachers. Children learn sign language and develop vocational skills, so that they are not trapped in poverty when they are older. We also provide children with access to hearing aids, surgery and treatment as required.
