A beautiful morning through a dirty window

The sky this morning was spectacular. I took this photo through the kitchen window and discovered how dirty it is. You can see where I've wiped the window! It reminds me that we cannot clean ourselves of son either. We can go so far in our own strength but need God's merciful love and the power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse us properly.
 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. - 1 John 1:8-10
