BIrthday pleasures linger

My birthday was on January 17th and Violet brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me.  They have been a joy to look at. By today, only this lovely statice is still looking good.

The image is made from a focus stack of 6 images taken at f4.5 and using the tripod with a sheet on a chair behind the vase as the backdrop.

Thank you for all your kind wishes. I'm still not very well and have been mainly in bed all day nursing my cough. Last night's hot toddy gave me 4 hours sleep which was wonderful, so I'm trying the remedy again tonight.

In other news, bookings for the next walking festival opened today and we have been overwhelmed by the brisk response. Soon  some of the walks will be fully booked (note to Fotomatikus and others who might join us).
