Homeward bound
We were flying home today. That meant getting up early to nip up to the Barn roastery instead of the cafe which is far closer to us. They do all their roasting for the week on a Monday so by nipping up on the Tuesday morning before leaving I was able to get a couple of bags which had been roasted yesterday. Of course I had to grab one last flat white before I headed home.
We had a bit of a mad dash to the train station as our local S bahn station was closed this week, but we made it to the airport in time. In plenty of time as it turned out as the flight had been delayed by fifty minutes after they discovered a cut in the tyre before it left Edinburgh.
We got on the plane and thought we were just about to take off when they started spraying it down with de-icer when the pilot announced that the runway had been temporarily closed to clear snow. In the end we took off about an hour and a half late, but it was a pretty smooth journey.
Back home now after a fantastic week and in need of some food, a bath and an early night.
