Memorable books from childhood

Popped into the library on the way home and saw this flipchart stand - they are gathering/sharing post it notes from people about their most memorable childhood book including who gave it to you.

I chose two books - the first was The magic faraway tree by Enid Blyton. I wasn't keen on my primary 3 teacher (and she was less than keen on me!) but she used to read this out and it was such a highlight. The second was a secret island by enid blyton I remember my dad giving to me particularly but maybe it was from both parents and it was all about independence and freedom and a life full of little adventures :)
