Soft closing toilet seats

For a nearly a year now we have put up with the 3 new toilet seats we bought, not quite working properly.  All three were stuborn at staying open so, on seeing a special offer on a new I bought it to try. It was only when I took the one in our bathroom off did I notice that they never been fitted correctly!  I have now spent all afternoon with my arms around one toilet or another, fitting them correctly.  It takes a woman to know how to do these things!
