A day for losing things!
1. My right contact lens.
How I lost this I have no idea, I put them both in this morning, but half way through the morning, after I had been repeatedly cleaning an imaginary smear on my reading glasses, I realised that the cause of the blurred vision was not a smudge on the glasses but the fact that I was minus my right contact lens.
I have worn lenses since I was 18, I will not say how many years that is but suffice to say it was before soft lenses, before semi permeable lenses, back in the dark ages of the original hard lenses. I spent an entire term's grant on them and starved for the rest of the term! What it is to be young and vain!
Consequently my eyes cannot adjust to glasses, which is what I am forced to now wear until I get a replacement. Worse than that, according to Tom, I am Irritable, not worth talking to, he keeps telling me to take the dogs out for a looooong walk.
2. I lost the snowdrops, that we had spotted yesterday. We walked up paths and down paths, through the trees, into the ruined gardens, hunting for them. My impaired sight didn't help, neither did the fresh snow that had fallen overnight. But finally we found them as the above photo shows!
3. I also lost, hope you non-doggy people are not offended, a poo bag. I dropped it yesterday and went back to pick it up. I am very particular about my dogs and it bothered me. But, again, I couldn't find it. When I got home I had a message from my dog walking companion of yesterday to say that she had been back this morning and picked it up for me! Which was very kind, what friendship, to pick up someone else's dog's .......bag. But I wish I had known before I went out!
So there it was, a day of losing things.
