Bloomin' cold

I'm aware that a lot of my blips feature the weather. In my defence, I must point out that as I'm British, discussions about the weather are the only safe subject when you rule out politics, religion, sport, and, God forbid, feelings and emotions.

The weather dominates our life a lot more now that we live in the countryside rather than a city; life has a rhythm and a seasonality now that was missing when we lived in what was often an hermetically sealed metropolis.

So today is blasted with cold and rimed with frost, giving the countryside a bleakness that's at odds with the sunshine we're experiencing this afternoon. And this is what appeals about today's blip: a stark, bleak tree, clinging precariously to the side of a mountain. My iPhone 6 struggled to render it properly, a trait I emphasised using Silver Efex Pro, giving the finished image a noir cartoon-like quality that I love.
