Our Special Day

A dull, showery day.

The biggest single Day of my life was our Wedding in July 1966. Sadly, although it was July and maybe because it was Scotland, it was dull and showery. However, this did not stop it being a memorable day as we exchanged our vows and then went on to enjoy a lovely Meal and evening dance - we Scots know how to enjoy a good Wedding Dance!

Afterwards, we had our Honeymoon in Scarborough (it was 1966 and this was exotic for those days). It was also the year when England won the World Cup and my wife learned early that, while she came first in my life, football and sport in general was a close second! Having said that, since we were both Christians, God came before all else.

As for knowing something now that I wished I had known then, I can only say that if I had realised how truly fortunate I was to have had the most amazing wife I would have been even more excited about our future life together.
