Not a cactus

"Eucalyptus tree is known as one of the tallest plants on the planet. Native to Australia, there are over 700 species of eucalyptus that belong to the family Myrtaceae. Most eucalyptus species are evergreen plants. Some species of eucalyptus develop as shrubs. It is often called a gum tree."

There are eucalyptus trees all over the neighborhoods of AZ because they provide fast upright shade. They are messy trees (most varieties) but I will always love them because they remind of the months I spent in South Australia many years ago. It was a magical place and just what I needed at that point in my life.

Today is my Mom's birthday! She is holding steady at a manageable pain level and we hope she will be home soon from the Nursing Center. Thanks to all for the kind thoughts, wishes and prayers over the past few months. I will always be grateful.
