Beauty in the Cold

Rather chilly standing around in the marshes of Lissenhall today but I was with a  friend yesterday who was too cold to stay out of the car for more than a few minutes. This mallard was good enough to swim calmly by at a sedate pace.

We did have a great day all the same, yesterday, with me bribing the gulls into shot by feeding them with some bread purchased for the purpose. My companion for the day is currently practicing taking shots of birds in flight and gulls are the perfect way to start.

Today I went back to try for some of the shots I bypassed yesterday. I'm not complaining. Having company...good company.... is so much more important than any photo opportunity I may have missed....just saying
