Spider Nursery
Just before the baby spiders start hatching, the nurseryweb spider attaches its large white egg sac to a bush and builds a protective web around it. The spiderlings (about 200 of them) spend a few days growing inside the cosy "nursery" then climb out and go "ballooning" on the end of a long silk thread. I found this nursery at the top of a clump of rushes.
