1 February 2015 - Why Are We Here?

Sunday was my hangover day, after the excesses of Saturday.  I was surprised that I was not really ill but managed to cope after the 12 hours of drinking the previous day.  Got up and watched Andy Murray get beaten in the Aus Open Final, so disappointing, he must find it so hard to keep going after those previous defeats in Melbourne. 

My picture today was inspired by Professor Brian Cox, I watched an episode of Human Universe called Why Are We Here.  Really interesting, his programmes always make me think, usually they make me feel really insignificant, this one made me feel really significant which is wonderful.  I particularly love the Carl Sagan quote at the end of the chapter in the book, regardless of whether we understand or comprehend the vastness of existence we need to ensure we make the most of it and love life (may be I was slightly emotional after all the drinking!)  

Headed off to Scholars for the pub quiz and to celebrate Medwyn's actual birthday.  We scored 45 points, came joint first and then lost again to the Quiz Machinists on a tie breaker question ( Dai Iawn Medwyn!!!!) The questions was: In What year was Baden Powell Born? Medwyn said 1898, it was 1857 so we lost. Not Medwyn's fault, we will win this bloody quiz outright one day!!!
