Burning LIke a Silver Flame

The sky tonight was too brilliant for my photography skills to capture properly with a camera I do not understand the settings of.  Who Am I kidding, even with a camera I can use, I could not capture it's beauty.

Although it was black blue above my head, and the sun had set an hour before, there was a glow in the south west, the slightest inkling of gold, rippling through orange, and red, until the red was kissed by the midnight blue coming from the east and it all merged as one.   And there, between the last breath of gold and the first sigh of blue - Venus.

I clambered out the car, and ran into the house... as I ran to the garden, Beloved shouted, "are you trying to get that sky?"

I stood perched on the back step, desperately trying to keep my elbows and boobs in line with the door frame; one misplaced breath and the security light would come on.

I clicked, and clicked and changed settings but nothing would let me capture that sky.      All I got, was a slight blur - Venus, for your pleasure.

I even contemplated trying to capture on paper.... can't find my water colours....  But I still might try.

Thank you All So much for your good wishes on my Birthday Blip yesterday, doesn't it make you feel special!
