Even Colder Water . . .

Back on 20th Jan I blipped this waterfall as 'Very Cold Water'.

Just before sunrise as I poured our early morning cups of tea I looked out of the kitchen window and saw a very strange sight - the pond appeared to be out of ground at one end!  On investigation (in my dressing and slippers gown at -2 C) I found that ice had formed on the fountain’s inlet spout and sprayed the water out of the pond.  I started to re-fill it (fortunately the hose was not frozen) and pushed the raised end down as far as I could (unfortunately - as it would have made a much better blip . . .)

It was then I realised that this might make today’s MonoMonday blip – the water spirits had lifted the pond out of the ground.  Mrs W missed her blip for today as she could not get her camera in time to capture two hairy legs sticking out of the bottom of a dressing gown taking flash photos!  (Flash of course being the operative word for the occasion – I’ve never been that modest – mind you at that temperature . . . ).

Later on, when the pond was refilled and the waterfall running again (to keep it clear of ice so that the birds have water) I took a few more shots, this being one of them.  After a little (lot) play this image manifested itself, and I could just not waste it – sorry MonoMonday, first I’ve missed for months.  Must be seen at its best in LARGE.

My    mm53: Spirit    image has been relegated to Flickr, as has the Technicolor version .
