Which Way?
This is a picture of the two bridges at the Great Brook, just outside our village. The Brook is a tributary of the Thames and water levels rise very quickly when we have heavy rain, flooding the fields that back on to it.
In the past, the Brook has had its course diverted slightly, to go under the newer of the bridges. During the Summer months, children fish here with nets and if it wasn't for the very occasional car going past, you'd think you'd stepped back in time.
This lane leads to Chimney Meadows, Oxfordshire's largest nature reserve. It's lovely to take a flask down to the hides but it's becoming more popular, so I don't go at weekends.
