The Kelpies

We had a lovely day out with the kids to the Kelpies.

They wanted to take their bikes. I was a bit dubious if it would be too hilly but nothing to worry about as they had great fun.  There were nice smooth flat paths to cycle on and lots of things to look at.  Ellie loved seeing The Kelpies...she kept saying 'wow' and 'best day ever'.   Alfie I think was a bit more interested in all the icy puddles and generally running around.

I have to admit its been hard lately juggling the needs and expectations of my children and the children I childmind.  It doesn't help that Alfie, in particular,  has not been great lately, lots of very big temper tantrums, almost like a rage he goes into and he's very difficult to reason with - he shouts/screams a lot and has started throwing stuff around during these tantrums, so I was a bit on edge today in case he decided to 'kick off' big time, however I was pleasantly surprised that he cycled everywhere and had great fun at the helix park too.  We even managed to pop into a local restaurant on way home for a late lunch.

I just hope that this week is a bit calmer with his tantrums than last week !
