Another day in Ramsgate. And Margate. They are obsessed with gates round here.
Another cold, cold run this morning. After a bit of thinking about yesterday's derelict car park, a quick google confirmed that it was the site of the old Hoverport! That was weird! Hovercraft still seem futuristic and yet the port is now just a decaying stretch of Tarmac with plant going through it. The buildings were all demolished a few years ago and it's now a nature reserve!

This afternoon, we went to Margate to look at the Turner Contemporary Gallery. Pretty good it is, too. The main exhibition was on Self Portraits through the ages. A bit of a mixed bag but some cracking stuff there. And they do a nice coconut and lemon slice in the cafe.

I was sorely tempted by the box of dressing up clothes and the empty picture frame so that you could recreate old-fashioned portraits. But it seemed to be aimed at the under tens...
